Nerdom and Other Nonsense Anime Podcast #030 - Completing the Sakura Quest

This week Bcom and Leo get together to discuss the 12th week of Summer 2017 anime. Before we get into a bunch of this season's finales, Bcom offers up a stunning rendition of some Rick & Morty meme that he doesn't fully understand. Look forward to discussion of A Centaur's Life's terrible "ending," Princess Principal rushing into a decent stopping point, Restaurant to Another World never changing its recipe, Tsuredure Children finishing strong, Sakura Quest finishing even stronger, and our other four shows lagging behind a week and leading up to their finales with varying degrees of success. We believe we've discovered the true nature of the anime curse, and it's that the deeper you travel into abyss, the harder it is to escape that truth that most anime just ain't very good.

Things you can look forward to this week are A Centaur's Life deciding to do a Sesame Street episode about naming different weeds, Princess Principal rushing into its final arc, the Tsuredure Children continuing to soothe our souls, Sakura Quest being at its Sakura Best, Made in Abyss triggering Leo with multiple conversations about piss, and Char Aznable showing up in 18if.

Nerdom and Other Nonsense Anime Podcast #028 - Anime Titles are Crêpe

This week Leo and Bcom get into the 10th week of Summer 2017 anime. As we close in on the end of the season, we have huge issues with some anime episode titles, and Bcom loses his shit over the pronunciation of the word crêpe, because...Bcom. We also pay homage to that one good scene from When Supernatural Battles Become Commonplace, because Saori Hayami is amazing.

Nerdom and Other Nonsense Anime Podcast #027 - Insert Boob Joke Here

Bcom and Leo review the Summer 2017 season's 9th week of anime, and find some common themes. They theorize that some anime consultant is running around between different studios telling directors to add horribly long English titles, as well as random boob jokes to every episode this week. We can't confirm it, but we have a lot of supporting evidence. Stay tuned for a scathing review of A Centaur's Life's attempt to produce a serious holocaust episode, Princess Principal telling us more about than Chise than we really needed to know, Rage of Bahamut kicking into full-gear with its must-watch after-credits scenes, Made in the Abyss picking up the pace, and an absolutely batshit episode of 18if that somehow had better idol music than the entire Love Live! series. SHARK LADIES!

Nerdom and Other Nonsense Anime Podcast #026 - All Mermaids are Topless

This week Bcom and Leo review the Summer 2017 anime season's 8th week of shows. This time around we learned that centaurs are the world's greatest horse-archers, Princess Principal inadvertently attempts the same experiment as the movie Trading Places, and even in a restaurant in another world mermaids are still topless. Tsuredure Children proves us right for cutting Convenience Store Boy Friends with one of its best episodes to date, Leo explains the similarities between his childhood town and Manoyama in Sakura Quest, and Karen single-handedly saves Gamers! from itself. Finally, we witness another spectacular dancing scene in Virgin Soul, Made in Abyss gets "Blaze Reap" into some new lore, 18if is slightly more comprehensible this week, and the Cheer Fruits participate in a rare, plot-relevant bath scene!
