Nerdom and Other Nonsense Anime Podcast #119 - Children of the Porn

Leo, Bcom, and Kat are back to talk about the 3rd week of the Winter 2020 anime season! We chat about the Heian period practice of “morning after” poems, stemming from the latest episode of  Chihayafuru. Bcom loved the Eizouken club’s conflict over prioritizing rule-of-cool or sakuga animation for their first project, although Sayaka’s steel chompers distracted Leo. ID:INVADED still has us arguing over how to pronounce the title. The cast of Dorohedoro basically find themselves in a George Romero zombie movie this episode, and we lose our heads over the background art and OP. Leo wishes he had his own pride of gal lion girls, while Kat ponders how tiny naked mole rats make love to their half-human queen in Seton Academy. Kat imagines a real-life fruit that tastes like a Starburst, inspired by the inventive food and wine that characters can eat on level 2 in BOFURI. Leo enjoyed Haikyu! Leo enjoyed a sports anime! Rejoice! Unfortunately, Kat watched a censored version of Interspecies Reviewers while Leo and Bcom watched the episode in all its glory, which leads to a LOT of pointless arguing. Nonetheless, our bickering is hilarious.

Kat, Leo, and Bcom are back…from the future…with a review of weeks 3 and 4 of the Fall 2019 anime season. As you’ll hear Leo say at the beginning of this episode, we were “trying to catch up,” but we totally didn’t. This episode was delayed for various reasons, but mostly because Bcom had a lot on his plate towards the end of 2019 and couldn’t get the episode edited.
